The mission of Africa Ministries is to care for orphans, street children, widows and other vulnerable members of society through education, skills training, shelter, health, spiritual guidance and reintegration.
UNICEF estimates that approximately 30,000 children are homeless in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. The number of orphans is projected to reach a staggering 970,000 by 2014
Most of the orphans have no hope of obtaining formal education. In addition, between 6 to 10 percent of these orphans become street children, while less than 1 percent live in established orphanages.
These children who are under the age of 13 are partly HIV/AIDS orphans, victims of divorce, peer pressure, lack of parental guidance or extreme poverty. They lack shelter, proper nutrition, education and health care. Moreover, they are exposed to health hazards, continuous abuse (both psychological and physical) and violence. Widespread poverty, intensified by the HIV/AIDS pandemic, has lead to a breakdown in normal social support mechanisms.

We are a registered Christian ministry, and because of the ADF insurgency that hit kasese district western Uganda in 1996 displaced most of the people nearly half of the population of kasese and many people lost their lives hence leading to high rates of orphans and street children and high dependence ransios.
As a result of the instability people were affected with diseases such as HIV/AIDs Malaria Cough etc, all resulting from high conjunction, high death rates, among families and high displacements of people especially children under 18 years of age who went as orphans and street children.
As Christians, because of this worse situation we chose to come up with a Christian ministry which HOPE FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN MINISTRY as a way of restoring these vulnerable children in order for them to grow well and have a better future. HOPE FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN MINISTRY currently operates under the following programs:-
(i) Care for orphans and street children and their guardians, widows.
(ii) Training and education.
(iii) Communal working class and spiritual development skills in the community.
HOPE FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN MINISTRY works in partnership with well wisher Christians, well wisher churches and well wisher Christian Organizations for help in the smooth running of their actions of this ministry from the time we started up to date and we hope if we are together, we shall build this ministry as well as the kingdom of God .

our ministry though we operate, it is on a low scale depending of our vision and this is brought about due to financial crisis and since the ADF war attack the rate of orphans and street children has been rising not only in kasese as a district but the whole of Uganda as a nation, the soldiers that flooded in kasese during this ADF war spread these diseases especially HIV/AIDs that is still claiming peoples lives and especially people who lefts their lands (Bakonzo) from mount Rwenzori to occupy the low lands in town are the most affected and have never gone back, hence high stands of living in kasese town and in the villages, high mortality rates and birth rates.
through the actions of HOPE FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN MINISTRY are funded, we have a vision that by 2015 the situation in kasese and the whole Uganda at large, of street children and orphans and the dependence ration will have traduced leading to the development of kasese as a district and the entire community of Uganda as a Nation.

Well blow me down, I really sold my residence last week, so I’m moving home. I really did it in the recession. Hoorah! But, I’ve now got to get down to the nitty gritty of moving to a new area. I need to reckon about where to store my things, so I’m on the lookout for cheap furniture storage. I do want it to be safe and accessible, so I’m thinking about one of these new self storage places, that you always hear advertised everywhere. Does anyone know of any excellent ones?
While I can appreciate the points in Africa Ministry International Missions, I am sick and tired of hearing rubbish about the “economic recovery”. The Federal government borrowed and spent $6.1T over the past 4 years to generate a cumulative $700 billion rise in the country’s GDP. This means we’ve borrowed and spent $8.70 for every $1 of nominal “growth” in Yucky domestic product. In constant dollars, GDP is flat, we got no “economic growth” at all for our $6.1T. In constant US dollars, the GDP in 2011 might go back to the 2007 level, if the economy continues “growing” at the same rate reached in the first 12 weeks of 2011. If not, then the GDP will in reality be lower than pre-recession levels. There is no economic recovery, the numbers prove this.

Teso development foundation (TESDEF) is a community based christian organization in soroti district,teso sub region,eastern Uganda. TESDEF realized the benefits of unity and believing that our problems in teso can best be solved by getting together accepting that the lives of orphans and vulnerable children can be better by our social interaction within and outside the teso community. Aware that they can play greater role in the future development of our mother country Uganda.
TESDEF realized that the majority of vulnerable children and orphans have no access to education and health due to poverty and the majority end up staying at home since most of them are orphans whose parents died of HIV/AIDS and their guardians can not educate them. the majority of the children lack clothing, bedding’s and food and poor health and nutrition in the teso community.
Many of the vulnerable children and orphans who dropout of school are idle without any productive activity that can engage them into productive life. For decades rural vulnerable children are left behind in the development and yet they play greater role in shaping the attitudes and development in their communities.
It was also intended to divert the energies of children from non productive to productive actions. We are focusing on helping the vulnerable children and orphans transform themselves and develop them morally, intellectually and economically.

To transform the lives of the vulnerable children and orphans who live with AIDS and whose parents died of HIV/AIDS in teso sub region thru education and health
PROJECT VISION
To rebuild and empower the poorest children and orphans in teso community through health care and education.

Empowering the poorest children and orphans in their respective households with support from donors
PROBLEM STATEMENT.
A bout 62% of the children are living below poverty level, most of there parents died of HIV/AIDS effect and guardians rely on peasant economy and inadequate income generating actions are the hallmark of the poor majority of the widows and there vulnerable children and orphans in teso sub region. Children under 7 years of age represent 52% of the population that live in absolute poverty. Since the population is predominately young this means that a large proportion of the children are vulnerable.
High mortality from HIV/AIDS in the region makes it more likely for most of the children live in absolute poverty to increase.
The project focuses on vulnerable children and orphans and youth as the most marginalized groups in the community. A situation analysis carried out in 2010 showed that children encounter a number of problems in their day to day actions in life.
Most TESDEF navigate was, HIV/AIDS effects, yucky violence of rights, limited access to educational services, poor health and sanitation, heavy work load inequitable sharing of benefits, The project therefore seeks to help the vulnerable children,orphans and the youth mostly.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
• To reduce child mortality.
• To help the orphans and vulnerable children in the meeting of educational needs in the society.
• To alleviate poverty among the vulnerable children and orphans.
• To improve the health of the vulnerable children through sensitization and training.
• Provision of the livestock to the vulnerable children and orphans.
• To combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases among the vulnerable children.
PROJECT STRATEGY
To re-build and empower children in teso region.
Actions;
• Construction of a resource centre for orphans and vulnerable children.
• Provision of basic needs for children, like paying school fees, school uniforms, books and pens, pencils and clothing in supporting their education.
• Training young disadvantaged children how to live healthy life and to teach them how to keep their hygiene.
• Alleviate poverty among children whose parents died of HIV/AIDS.
• Access to education for vulnerable children and orphans.
Expected results;
• Improved education for the orphans and vulnerable children
• Improved standard of living for children
• Reduced poverty among children
• Reduced mortality rate

Blessings, like and peace from God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ be unto you .I highly glorify the Lord who has just connected us to you in a very incredible and miraculous way.
I’m pastor by call, lover of children by virtue. I’m married with 6 children. A part from being God’s servant, I’m a Program Officer of a non profit organization termed as the LWAC Africa Network that in an outreach arm of the GCI church. The organization has established an Orphans and Vulnerable children school based here in Kenya. The school currently has 360 pupils.120 children are total orphans, 80 are single orphans, while 160 are vulnerable children.
The school starts from baby class, pre-unit and nursery to class eight next year. Even though the school dearly needs 12 classrooms, but we currently only have three classrooms. Other children are learning just under the trees. The school has 12 teachers, but the ministry of education is advising us to use 3 more trained teachers.
The main goal of LWAC Africa Network’s program is entirely to support the church and community’s efforts to care for the affected OVCS and disabled by assisting them with their daily necessities, e.g. shelters, school fees, moral, nutrition, cloths, medicine and spiritual support and to bring about a sustainable change in their lives.
We do not have an orphanage yet although it is our vision to have one, but we do take care of these children through a home based care program. We have two centers, one in Kenya and the other one is in Tanzania.
In this regard, we long to see you come and work directly with the people on the ground that is already making a variation. It’s the only way to make sure that your resources or donations are going to be used directly to the communities and used by people who really know what the issues are.
Never doubt that you can make a variation — directly to the people who need it most.
We’ll be praying God to lead you to us at His own appointed time. We trust that if this is really God’s will then He’ll bring it to completion. I’ve therefore attached a document that I reckon might help you to know what we have on the ground.
As we’ve been praying God to open some doors that could enabled us to support the OVCS, thus it came as a surprise while surfing that we got you guys.
