Why Do People Think Gold Diggers Are Bad?

I’m writing this article to try and clear the air on the term “the gold digger”, a label applied to women who specifically and exclusively date wealthy men.

Some people love the luxuries that being rich brings. Further, they strive with the pressures that also come with these luxuries. Occasionally these people are women who, rather than earn the riches themselves, hope to marry into riches. As such, they pursue and date wealthy men exclusively.

People are different throughout the world. Every difference comes with its own pleasures and comes with its own pressures. Being rich is only one of those differences and its not for everyone. If you don’t think there are pressures for the rich, just look at the gossip section of any magazine. Not everyone can handle the pressures associated with abundance. That is why for so many people, winning the lottery is the worst thing that ever happened to them. It destroys their life.

Being rich is not for everyone. Personally, I’d prefer a fulfilling life with my family than give the priority and commitment to career that many of the wealthy have. But that is just me. In our amazing world of difference and variety, there are people who can only exist with the benefits and pressures of such an existence. Living in such a reality is what brings out the best in them and is the reality where they can be “whole”.

I know that lifestyle isn’t for me. The costs would be too great. Which is why I don’t get the gold digger label. Someone else understands that that type of lifestyle is for them. Its the lifestyle that brings out the best in them. They actively pursue the lifestyle by dating people who can share it with them and then others label them as a gold digger for their trouble. It isn’t even any of their business.

So if you know what you need in life, just go for it. There will be detractors no matter what you do. If you need a wealthy man to be the person you want to be, good luck to you. There certainly are enough websites out there to cater to your needs.

And never mind those who are detractors. Their opinions always say more about them anyway, than they do about you.
